HelixCast vs. ScreenCloud
ScreenCloud needs compatible hardware. HelixCast runs on anything.
ScreenCloud is a well-designed digital signage platform. But it requires a compatible device, has no native screen mirroring, and enterprise pricing is behind a sales wall. HelixCast runs in any browser, includes mirroring on every plan, and shows you pricing upfront.

HelixCast is browser-first. ScreenCloud requires an approved device.
ScreenCloud requires a device from their compatible hardware list. No browser player. No desktop OS app. HelixCast runs in any modern browser — on Windows, Mac, Linux, a $40 Fire Stick, or a decade-old laptop. The flexibility is not a workaround. It is the product.
| Feature | ScreenCloud | HelixCast |
|---|---|---|
| Browser-based player | —Not available | ✓Native app + browser — any OS, no approved device list |
| Windows / Mac / Linux | —No desktop OS support | ✓Native app + browser — Windows, Mac & Linux |
| Old / off-brand hardware | —Compatible device list required | ✓Native app or browser on any existing hardware — no approved list |
| Android TV app | Android TV / Fire TV app available | ✓Native app runs on any Android TV or Google TV display — any consumer smart TV |
02
Screen mirroring is not a ScreenCloud feature. It is a HelixCast standard.
ScreenCloud does not offer native screen mirroring. If you want to present from a laptop to a ScreenCloud display, you need a separate casting solution. HelixCast includes mirroring on every plan — a presenter opens a URL in their browser and is live in under 10 seconds. No app, no account, no separate hardware.
| Feature | ScreenCloud | HelixCast |
|---|---|---|
| Screen mirroring | —Not natively available | ✓Every plan, every device |
| Guest mirroring (no account) | —Not available | ✓Room URL only |
| Presenter installs anything | —Separate casting solution required | ✓No — room URL in any browser |
| Signage resumes after mirroring | —Not available | ✓Automatic on disconnect |
03
No sales call to see enterprise pricing. No polling to see your updates.
ScreenCloud's Enterprise plan pricing is only available by contacting sales. HelixCast publishes all pricing upfront. And when you save a content change, HelixCast pushes it to every connected screen in seconds — ScreenCloud screens poll for updates on a schedule.
| Feature | ScreenCloud | HelixCast |
|---|---|---|
| Transparent pricing | Enterprise requires contacting sales | ✓All plans published on pricing page |
| Content update delivery | Polling — screens check in on schedule | ✓Push — seconds after saving |
| Self-serve onboarding | Enterprise is sales-assisted | ✓Full self-serve on all plans |
| App marketplace | 150+ third-party apps | ✓Core integrations — marketplace on roadmap |
