HelixCast vs. BrightSign

$300 per screen before you show a single slide.

BrightSign is purpose-built hardware signage — reliable, but expensive and locked to their proprietary ecosystem. HelixCast runs on any device you already own, adds screen mirroring on every screen, and includes cloud management at no extra cost.

01

Any hardware. Not just theirs.

Every BrightSign deployment starts with a hardware purchase. Entry-level models start at $150. 4K units run $600+. Those costs compound across every screen in your fleet. HelixCast runs in a browser on any device you already have — a $40 Fire Stick, a decade-old PC, a Chromebook.

02

Cloud management is included. Not an add-on.

BrightSign ships with the BrightAuthor local software. Remote management via BSN.Cloud is a separate subscription on top of the hardware cost. HelixCast is cloud-native — every plan includes remote management, scheduling, and monitoring from day one.

03

Screen mirroring. BrightSign doesn't have it.

BrightSign is a signage platform. It does not support screen mirroring. If you want to present from a laptop to a BrightSign display, you need a separate casting solution — and likely a separate HDMI input. HelixCast includes mirroring on every plan, on every installation.
